Placental Problems
What are the most common placental problems?
During pregnancy, possible placental problems include placental abruption, placenta previa and placenta accreta. These conditions can cause potentially heavy vaginal bleeding. After delivery, retained placenta is sometimes a concern.
In an earlier post, I shared about the presumed diagnosis of placenta previa during my second trimester after going to my Doctor for vaginal bleeding. However, after seeing a specialist this was ruled out and it was discovered I had a polyp on my cervix. I share this to say, STOP Googling and call your Doctor if you feel something is going on! Google, literally had me on so many occasions sitting on the bathroom floor crying in despair for the uncertainty but mental certainty of “conditions/ailments”.
4 months after C-section delivery, I was having intermittent bleeding and it was later shared that I would need to have a D & C due to retained placenta. This had absolutely nothing to do with any condition, it was an occurrence. Resonating back to an earlier statement- stop Googling and call your Doctor! The recovery from this procedure, although far less invasive than the actual delivery somehow took my body longer to recoupe. The human body is absolutely AMAZING- for any Queen out there experiencing the same, take note of these 3 easy steps to take back control of your body.
Sleep, rest is so essential to the recovery process!
Eat! Eat a balanced diet and do not deny yourself indulgence to that one, okay two things you like!
Drink! Drink plenty of water.
*A secret note, first thing every morning stretch well and drink warm water! You will be surprised what this does for not only your mental stimulation but also for your bowl movements and getting your day started!
