Check Your Supplies: 5 Million Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaners Have Been Recalled Due to Risks of Bacteria
The contaminated products were sold from December 14, 2022 through January 23, 2023.

Do you use Fabuloso cleaning supplies? If so, make sure you check the bottles' labels before you give your home its weekly clean: Almost five million of the brand's multi-purpose cleaners have been recalled due to risks of bacteria growth, CNN reports.
The products were manufactured between December 14, 2022 through January 23, 2023 and sold at retailers such as Amazon, Dollar General, Home Depot, and Walmart. However, 3.9 million of the 4.9 million contaminated products were never actually distributed for sale, the Fabuloso team reports.
Still, it's best to check your cleaners. The following multi-purpose cleaners are part of the recall:
Lavender Scent
Fabuloso Original Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Lavender Scent, 22 fluid ounces
Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner 2X Concentrated Formula, Lavender Scent, 56 fluid ounces, 128 fluid ounces, and 169 fluid ounces

Refreshing Lemon Scent

Check to see if any of your cleaners' labels have the first eight digits of these lot codes, which indicate that your product may be contaminated, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission said:

If you have any of the recalled products, you can apply for a refund through the brand's website or by calling 1-855-703-0166.
The voluntary recall was spurred because a preservative "was not added at the intended levels during manufacturing," Fabuloso representatives said. As a result, the bacteria species Pseudomonas, which is found mainly in soil and water, grew in the products. The company's team advises customers to stop using any recalled products immediately and to throw them away in the original container.
People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, and underlying lung conditions are most at risk for infection when exposed to the bacteria growth, the CPSC noted. The bacteria can enter the body through the eyes, breaks in skin, or by inhaling.
