Pap Test During Pregnancy
So, my Doctor routinely performed Pap Smears until I was able 22 weeks pregnant [5 1/2 months]. Of course, I was a nervous wreck each time but just to ease your mind- Pap testing is completely safe until 24 weeks. It is suggestive that after that time [24 weeks], your cervix is too sensitive in preparation for birth and there is increased blood flow to your cervix resulting it in not being “coined” safe. In research, I also found that doing the Pap Smears were beneficial in checking for vaginal infections and/or STI’s; which are common for a lot of pregnant women. Gratefully, I did not have occurrence of any of these, but if you have share the grows/glows in the comment section below! We’d love to hear from you!
