First Pair of Shoes

This past weekend we went to get our daughter’s first pair of shoes. It was a sight to see- we were all matching with the neutral tone, purple and white- our Princess had an off the shoulder thing going, Mama rocked her stacked wedges and Daddy had on fresh linen.

We were on a mission- a very important mission, LOL, and then… … we get to the store it is 50 million people in there, after nearly a 30 minute wait 1 of the only 2 associates informed us that we needed to put our names on the list and so thereby we waited again. People were all out of turn, walk-ins with the desire for immediate attention and just a hot mess to say the least. But you know as I shared in an earlier post, my Mini Me is modeling me to the tea!

SooOOo, I waited so patiently, smiling at each passing visitor and kept somehow my inner thoughts of shouting “get out, it is our turn already” at bay. Finally, it is our turn, I have pulled all the stops out of the diaper bag so the call of our name was just in time.

The entire experience was 4 minutes long- literally, 4 minutes long, our daughter was sized, options provided to us [only 12] and we were rung up with the “should we add socks or an umbrella”. An umbrella, no how about some fireworks, a parade or maybe even a cartwheel.

All this to say, our daughter has had the shoes on all of 0 hours since purchasing- she actually prefers no shoes as she freely roams her castle.

Can you recall your child’s first shoe purchase? If so, keep the conversation going- post below!
