Okay, MomE Club Family so I have been in open forum debate regarding the word “mistake” and its usage in our home and would love to hear your perspective!

Growing up, my siblings and I were taught the following!

• A mistake repeated more than once is a decision

• A mistake repeated more than twice is a habit

• A mistake repeated more than three times is a character

We want our daughter to be intentional and authentic in her communication, action and interaction! and … at times for those that are not emotionally intelligent it may appear to be a “mistake” in which she must apologize however, as her Parents, we believe that choices yield individual consequence and not collaborative consequence or reward. Hear me out… so as a result, if you are unhappy with her “mistake” interchangeable with decision that then becomes a “you” problem as she should be empathetic and courteous but unapologetic in what affects her life directly.
